Sir Edward Jointed Wooden Doll, 9 inches
Offered is this dapper 9 inch all-wooden gentleman doll that is modeled after an original papier mache doll from my personal collection. Sir Edward has a painted mustache and mutton chops typically worn by gentlemen of the 19840’s. Costumed in fancy black wool coat tails and pants, a black top hat, a flowered vest with a white shirt beneath and a burgundy silk cravat, he also carries his dog cane because, what proper gentleman would be caught without one on an evening out?
He was made as a companion to a UFDC luncheon event in 2024 to accompany Miss Unity, and, now, he has his own companion, Miss Abigail who is listed separately. They are both is part of the 9 inch doll series which also includes a lovely period screen backdrop and a wooden table (you can see those in the last photo).
More dolls will be made in this series all with rare hairstyles of the 1840's.
Since each doll is hand painted, there will be small variations in each doll.
Each doll is signed “C.S. Carver” for Charles Stuart Carver, the artist, and comes in its own decorated box with a laser engraved certificate of authenticity.
